Im in love with you8/2/2023 ![]() ![]() Sure, he was the mastermind behind A Little Piece of Heaven, as well as some other songs in Self-titled (I'm pretty sure he had hands in Brompton Cocktail, not sure about the other songs) and presumably Nightmare, but that's about it when it comes to his contribution to writing songs. I love The Rev as much as the next guy, but he wasn't the glue that held the band together at all. I've seen a lot of them change with time and gain new influences and drop influences as well, and sometimes it works great for a particular band, and other times, it results in a band losing what made them great in the first place. I love A7X and have been a huge fan for nearly 20 years, but as a musician and songwriter myself, I love a lot of bands. These two new songs sound like they're trying too hard to be unique and forcing it. They had the right mix of things with The Stage in regards to writing Avenged-esque songs with new influences not typically heard in the genre, and it worked. WLY (and Nobody to an extent) sounds like they took multiple drastically different parts of what would normally be different songs (each of which would be awesome if they fleshed out those individual ideas) and threw them together. It's about the flow, the groove, the hooks. It's not about how fast/slow, crazy, etc, it is. It will probably be their most underrated album yet I look forward to experiencing the entire album, especially after reading some of the summaries from the people who listened in Vegas last night.Įvery album needs to set-in for it to click, and I think LIBAD will be no exception. ![]() They are just Avenged Sevenfold, and like fine wine, they are aging spectacularly with so much more depth as each record is written. I admire the fact they don't try to fit in to a specific label. The Stage was a cool proof-of-concept for them to flex their technicality, now they are infusing the technical precision with messing around with concepts like, "what even is a genre?" The guys are artists, and they are proving it definitively with LIBAD. Honestly, even with very radio-friendly albums like Nightmare, the song structure, musicality and lyricism is beyond 99.9% of their peers. Nearly everything they release takes some time to come around to none of their discography is "standard" rock or metal or whatever. I’m so excited!Īvenged sevenfold is the most talented band on the planet and I will always be a die hard fan! I can’t wait to explore this new album as well! I love the art work of the stage and am loving this one even more! There is so much to pick apart and explore even with these two singles and the full album I KNOW will be so rich and deep. And I love how the actual direction they went with on that album as far as prog and experimental elements actually match the themes so well! ![]() I love the messages and themes of the album and what they are trying to say is so cool. There is so much to explore and and pick apart and study. I love that they are going so much more philosophical and contemplative and psychedelic with their music! THE STAGE IS MY FAVORITE ALBUM and I love how rich and deep it is. I totally get that, and even I would like to hear avenged do stuff more reminiscent of their older work occasionally.īut I LOVE music with depth. ![]() They just want to hear familiar and safe. They aren’t looking for depth and philosophy and experimenting. I especially love that they are doing this while staying true to their sound! I guess a lot of people just want “easy” music. I love that they are branching out and experimenting and am fully prepared for this not to be like anything I’ve heard from them. ![]()
